Tomb of Namor: Part 04
Aug. 15th, 2011 12:18 pm"Dude, you sure you're okay with Sue showing Namor the town?" Ben asks Reed as they share a cup of coffee in Reed's lab.
"Hmm…" Reed says distractedly as he makes a few adjustments to his latest project.
Ben reaches and grabs Reed's head and pulls it around to face him. "You're girl showing Mr. Ego the town. You sure you're okay with it?"
"Oh yeah. Well mostly…" Reed replies. "I mean Dr. Storm has a couple of heavy combat drones following them around and Sue can take care of herself."
"Yeah, but what about you guys? That fish guy ain't exactly hard on the lady's eyes."
"Well, Sue's a grown woman. She can make her own choices…but if you and Johnny wanted to 'go out on the town' I wouldn't stand in your way," Reed says hopefully.
"You know, now that you mention it, my legs could use a good stretch. See yeah later."
But then the strangest, most miraculous thing happened. The rock monster caught the taxi and saved them. He even winked at her through the window. That was until the hunk flew over and hit the monster in the back and kidneys (do rock monsters have kidneys?) a few times. The monsters face crumpled in pain but he never dropped the car. In fact he turned to shield the car from the nutjob!
Finally, the monster croaked out, "A little help here Johnny?" and then there was a wall of fire separating them. The monster carefully put down their taxi and then leaped away to attack the nutjob again only to be knocked three blocks away.
After that things went really crazy. Her mom couldn't stop screaming, her dad was trying to pull them away somewhere (but where was there to go?) and the nutjob knocked out the flaming man. Then there was a giant robot, a fifty foot woman in her underwear and the Ultimates (by this time Claire was wondering if she had hit her head). Then the Invisible Woman, she wasn't invisible at the time, made an invisible dome around the nutjob and the flaming man. She screamed for everyone to close their eyes and there was this bright flash and then everything inside the dome was burnt (except for the nutjob and the flaming man). Then the rock man came back and dropped a bus on the nutjob and everyone cheered cause really, who can take being burnt and then hit by a bus? Turns out the nutjob can. Then the nutjob really started screaming and the sky when dark and there was this massive water giant (that kind of looked like Poseidon) and the nutjob ranted some more and then the Invisible Woman kissed him. After the kiss he said something like, "She meant it" and then he flew away. The water giant collapsed getting everyone and everything wet and the four heroes (cause that's what they were Claire decided) stood looking awkward until a military van came and picked them up.
And truth be told, it was the best time Claire had ever had.

Claire had so looked forward to finally getting to see New York City and with her sixteenth birthday, her chance had finally come. Her parents had saved up for the trip and everything was perfect. A hotel within walking distance of Central Park, tickets to see Wicked and she even caught a glimpse of Thor as he flew to the Triskelion. Today they had decided to see TImes Square and all was perfect…until the cab they were in was picked up by the hunk of a guy and thrown at the rock monster. She couldn't tell if the screaming she heard was hers, her mother's or her father and she supposed it didn't really matter. What did matter was that she was only sixteen and she was going to die, painfully and horribly. But then the strangest, most miraculous thing happened. The rock monster caught the taxi and saved them. He even winked at her through the window. That was until the hunk flew over and hit the monster in the back and kidneys (do rock monsters have kidneys?) a few times.
